Bring clear photos of your existing tattoo from multiple angles and in good lighting. We'll discuss your vision, assess the tattoo, and determine the best approach.
Our artist will create a custom design that strategically covers or incorporates the old tattoo. This often requires designs that are larger and darker than the original.
Cover-ups may require one or multiple sessions depending on the size and complexity. The tattooing process is the same, but may involve more passes to ensure full coverage.
Follow standard aftercare instructions. Once healed, we may schedule a touch-up session to perfect the coverage and ensure the old tattoo is completely concealed.
For very dark or problematic tattoos, we may recommend laser removal sessions before the cover-up. This lightens the existing tattoo, giving us more creative freedom with the new design.
Typically, 1-3 laser sessions can significantly improve cover-up options. We can provide referrals to trusted laser removal specialists.
