Aftercare Sheet

Taking proper care of your new tattoo is essential to ensure a smooth healing process and long-lasting, vibrant ink.

Important Reminders

•No direct sunlight on your fresh tattoo. Even healed tattoos (especially colored ones) can fade in the sun. Always use a high SPF sunscreen once healed.
•No swimming, bathing, or hot tubs for 2 weeks. Avoid any submerging in water. Showering is fine.
•Follow a strict 2-week healing routine, cleaning your tattoo 3 times daily.

Day 1

•Your tattoo may ooze fluid (plasma, ink, and a small amount of blood) and feel red, sore, and warm to the touch.
•Remove the bandage after 2 hours, with clean hands.
•Wash gently (firmly) with lukewarm water and glycerine soap (remove any visible plasma).
•Rinse well, then follow with a cold rinse (using fridge or iced water or ice block to) to soothe the area/cool down.
•Pat dry with a clean towel.
•Wait 15 minutes, then apply a VERY THIN layer of Bepanthen (Baby Nappy Cream). Rub in well and remove any excess.

Repeat this cleaning process 3-4 times daily:

Morning
Afternoon (more often on hot days)
Before bed

Clothing Advice

•Keep your tattoo uncovered as much as possible.
•If covering is necessary, wear soft, loose, and breathable clothing.

Days 2-3

•Redness will begin to fade.
•Your tattoo may appear dull or cloudy as your skin starts healing.
•Light scabs may form, this is normal.
•DO NOT PICK SCABS; this causes scarring and ink loss.

Days 6-14

•Scabs will harden and begin to flake.
•The tattoo may flake or peel slightly.
•If it itches, tap lightly, never scratch.

Days 15-30

•Flaking should mostly stop.
•Skin may appear dry or dull, keep moisturizing with E45 or any good rich moisturizer.
•By 3-4 weeks, surface layers should be fully healed.
•Deeper layers may take 3-4 months to completely heal.

Long-Term Care for Your Tattoo

•Stay hydrated to maintain skin elasticity.
•Use sunscreen to prevent fading.
•Maintain a healthy weight, avoid rapid changes that could stretch or distort the tattoo.
•With proper care, your tattoo will remain bright, bold, and beautiful for years to come.
